Uhuru mourns 26 killed in Nairobi-Mombasa highway

The accident happened Monday night at Kambu, Makueni county, along the Nairobi-Mombasa highway, Monday night when a Mombasa bound bus collided head-on with a tanker.

“I condole with the families, relatives and friends of the

 26 

buspassengers who lost their lives in a road accident at Kambu,” said Uhuru in a statetement, Tuesday.The Head of State also asked motorists to obey traffic rules in order to prevent further accidents.
“I urge motorists to be extra careful and observe traffic rules to avoid road accidents;” he added.
He also wished quick recovery to victims who escaped death and are recuperating at home or in various hospitals.
Former presidential aspirant Martha Karua also mourned her niece who was among the casualties.
