Team United Kiambu led by Kabete MP Ferdinand Waititu says it is ready to take over Kiambu County leadership.
The team trounced incumbent governor William Kabogo at the Jubilee Party primaries on Tuesday to emerge victorious going by provisional results released so far.
Speaking on Wednesday at the county tallying centre in Kiambu high school, Dr James Nyoro, Waititu’s deputy-to-be, said they are not anxious at all and are ready to take over the county’s leadership on August 8.
“We are not anxious at all. This process is subject to challenge through a legal process and we want to do everything perfectly to avoid any such thing,” he said.
Nyoro, who vied against Kabogo and came a distant second, said together with Waititu, they are ready to take over Kiambu leadership.
He said that the incumbent governor has had his success and failures during his tenure as Kiambu governor and it is time to let in new pair of hands to develop the county.
Waititu who appeared on Inooro TV Wednesday morning thanked the people of Kiambu for making a conscious decision to do away with bad governance.
The team which also included businessman David Ngari alias Gakuyo, John Mugwe and Aquiline Njoki has promised to make Kiambu a better place and an investment hub.
