BREAKING: ODM NULLIFIES Nominations for Kisumu Governor, CERTIFICATES Issued to Prof Nyong’o and Jack Raguma REVOKED
The ODM Elections appeals tribunal has nullified nomination results for Kisumu county governor, effectively both certificates issued to Prof Anyang Nyong’o and incumbent Governpor Jack Ranguma revoked. In line with ODM Constitution the National Executive Council will select a candidate and his/her deputy.
This decision follows a petition by one of candidates Dr. Hezron Otieno Mc’Obewa who came third behind Nyong’o and Raguma over the manner in which the two leading candidates declared themselves winners before vote counting was concluded .
Ealier today evening the party also nullified nominations resukts for one Homa Bay county senate race whose certificate had been awarded to Senator Kajwang’. Also Karachuonyo constituency results and several ward results were nullified, see press statement :

UPDATE ON PARTY PRIMARIES (28/04/17)
The National Elections Board of the ODM has nullified nomination results for Member of Parliament Karachuonyo Constituency held on Monday 24th April 2017 and those of four Wards in the same constituency due to reported irregularities.
The four wards are;
1. Kibiri
2. North Karachuonyo
3. Wang’chieng
4. West Karachuonyo
Following the decision, the Board has directed a repeat nominations exercise for MP’s position in Karachuonyo and the four Wards on Sunday 30th April 2017.
All the results other than those that are disputed shall be made public and certificates taken to Counties for issuance to winners starting next week Tuesday 2nd May 2017.
Meanwhile, on Migori, Homabay, Siaya and Kisumu Counties, the Board is scrutinizing the results as submitted by Returning Officers and the reports from the three member committee and will make a communication as soon as the process is over.
Today, the Board held repeat nominations in Shinyalu, South Mugirango ,Nakuru Town West Constituencies , Ibeno and Birongo Wards in Nyaribari Chache Constituency, Two Wards in Turkana County and Ten Wards in Uasin Gishu County.
Earlier on, the Board postponed repeat nominations in 19 polling stations in six Wards in Mombasa County following a mix up on some of the ballot papers. The exercise will now be held tomorrow (Saturday 29th April 2017).
Nairobi County Primaries are scheduled for Sunday 30th April 2017.
