Uhuru’s brotherly message to Raila ahead of August polls
President Uhuru Kenyatta has called upon National Super Alliance (NASA) flag bearer Raila Amolo Odinga to accept defeat and join hands with him to build this nation after the August general polls.
The head of the state told the Coalition for Reforms and Democracy (Cord) Leader that the citizens of this country share the same problems, adding that he will be glad to work with him after he trounces him when that time comes.
“I invite my brother Raila Odinga after I defeat him in August and all those Kenyans who have had wide experience to share the problems and the challenges that the nation is facing and allow them to interrogate issues for the benefit of the country,” Uhuru said, as quoted by the Star.
The president also said that there comes a time when leaders of this nation have to forget about their political interests in order to transform the lives of the common mwananchi, adding that unity is important in matters of national growth.
“I do hope that going forward Kenyans will begin to recognise that there are times when national interests supersede our own petty political differences. There are times when we must come together,” he added.
The message of the president comes at a time when both Jubilee and NASA Leaders are campaigning in different parts of the nation.
