Ni Kubaya Wasee!! Jubilee Nominations Chaos After Ballot Papers Get Burnt in Kirinyaga(PHOTOS)


Angry residents of Kirinyaga County have seized and burnt ballot papers in the ongoing party primaries. The chaotic scene saw angry voters overpower two police officers and set ablaze ballot papers on Monday April 24 at Rukenya poling centre. The anger was triggered after voters realised names of MCA aspirants were missing while there were also few governor position ballot papers.


Jubilee party said the sitiation was being rectified with new and extra ballot papers being flwon to the affected areas. "Extra ballot papers for governors have already been flown and will be on the ground in the next one hour," said the party Elections Board Chairman Andrew Musangi during a press conference at the Jubilee headquarters. In Sotik, Kapletindo ward there were no ballot papers for MCA seat leading to agitation among voters. Musangi said the papers had been flown.

Chaos also rocked Chebongi polling station in Sotik after a presiding officer was found allegedly marking ballot papers in favour of one aspirant Joyce Laboso.
