Nandi County Senator Stephen Sang,
34, is likely to once again make Kenyan history of being the youngest governor
if incoming results from the Jubilee nominations are anything to go by. In
results seen , Sang is leading the race so far with 27,336 votes, beating two
veteran politicians and the incumbent in the process. Below are provisional

12, 431 Felix Kosgei- 7,921 Cleophas Lagat 6,611. Lagat is the current governor
of Nandi county.
In previous reports, Sang was quoted
saying he had every confidence that he will carry the day on nomination day,
Tuesday, April 25. “I am very confident of a win because of the support I have
received across the county and I want to ask you the electorate to be vigilant
and guard against poll rigging because after sensing defeat my opponents have
teamed up against me,” said Sang as quoted in North Rift News on Tuesday, April
18. He was also quoted taking jibes at his opponents who have nothing to show
for all their years in government.
Henry Kosgei has been in politics
for over 30 years, serving in both Parliament and the Cabinet while Felix
Koskei’s last appointment was the cabinet secretary for Agriculture. Sang’s
victory was hailed on social media for beating the odd and proving young turks
can beat old guards at their own gam
