Former University of Nairobi students’ leader Paul Ongili, popularly known as Babu Owino, has won the Embakasi East constituency ODM nominations.
Owino will now face Jubilee Party’s Francis Mureithi come August

general election.There were six other ODM aspirants in the nominations: Francis Masinde, George Butto, Boniface Nyagaka Mosoti, Joash Omwenga, Phillip Bosire, and Nyamasi Lukas Baridi.The outspoken politician took to social media to thank his supporters for electing him.
"I'd love to take this opportunity to thank my team & all my supporters who played a key role in securing our victory tonight.God bless y'all," Owino wrote on Twitter.
The Embakasi East MP seat is currently occupied by John Ogutu Omondi.
