The Jubilee Party has continued to
grab headlines after its nominations that were scheduled for Friday, April 21,
failed terribly, forcing the party to call it off countrywide.
The total failure was a shame to the
ruling party and its leadership which enjoys the incumbency. President Uhuru
Kenyatta and his deputy, William Ruto, were compelled to hold crisis meetings
to streamline affairs before they declared different dates for the primaries.
Uhuru apologised to Jubilee
supporters and aspirants and promised that the party would conduct free and
fair nominations. Ruto vowed to oversee the nomination to its conclusion
However, presidential aspirant
Nazlin Umar has warned that the move will kill Ruto's 2022 plans to vie for
president.
Nazlin believes that by agreeing to
oversee the nominations, the DP has put himself in an irredeemable situation
should the primaries fail again. "Ruto has entrapped himself by
"overseeing" Jubilee primaries. Mwenye kutega huteguka. Uv (sic)
sl@ughtered ur (sic) 2022 'dreams' bro," Nazlin said through social media.
