Here Is The Evidence Joho Did His KCSE in 1993 But knec says he forged his certificates.
A photo has emerged online purporting to prove Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho had sat for his KCSE examination contrary to claims by KNEC.
Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho. In the photo which TUKO.co.ke has managed to obtain, the then teenage Joho is seen in a group photo celebrating the end of their KCSE exam. The photo dated 1993, shows Joho in a Serani Secondary School uniform. The calm looking Joho stands out among his excited classmates, staring motionless at the horizon.
The photo of young Joho has caused a stir online especially with the current KCSE certificate scandal facing him.
A letter from the KNEC confirming that Joho’s KCSE certificate was fake.
Kenyans on social media have claimed the photo is evidence the Mombasa governor sat for his KCSE certificate in 1993 and accused the government of witch hunt. ”The war on Joho is on then? The entire state machinery trained on a single man. Says more about the state than about the man,” a social media user posted. ”KNEC an outfit that was only recently abetting cheating in national exams now claims Joho’s Form 4 certificate is fake?,” a Twitter user wondered.
Joho’s gubernatorial re-election bid was dealt a body-blow on Sunday, March 26, when the Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC) ‘confirmed’ the governor’s KCSE result was fake as earlier reported. KNEC in response to a probe request by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations, had written a letter which claimed Joho did not sit for his KCSE in 1992 at Serani Secondary School. The letter signed by acting KNEC Chief Executive Mercy Karogo on January 26, 2017 states that a student by the name Joho Hassan Ali neither registered at the school nor sat for the 1992 KCSE examination under the index number 160092024. Joho’s communication department has, however, rubbished the claims saying the governor sat for his KCSE examination in 1993.
